What will I get?

Here are two typical examples of my proofreading and language-editing mark-up. Click on the images to enlarge them.

Proofreading

Proofreading is usually carried out on PDF, with changes indicated using Adobe's commenting tools.

In the 'Before' image you can see the proof as it would look when you send it to me. In the two 'After' images you can see the changes indicated in the text, with the corresponding comments at the side. In the PDF file, if you click on a comment, the relevant place in the text will be outlined in blue.

Language Editing

My language-editing service is done in Word, with the changes tracked.

In the 'Before' image you can see the text as it would look when I receive it; the 'After' image shows my changes, tracked; and the 'Clean' (available on request) image shows the document as it would look when all changes are accepted – only the queries are still showing.

The six examples used on this page are taken from an article I wrote in 2019, with mistakes added to demonstrate the services I offer.
